Looks like Greene is sinking fast with the ties to the trial lawyers and high profile democrats. From what I’m hearing in the district, Greene has peaked and is now losing momentum as the truth comes out about him. I’m guessing this week will be quite interesting for everyone involved. Oh wait...news flash just came in...Greene’s kids have endorsed their own dad for state rep....never mind,,,he wins..LOL

I don’t know, I think Greene has too much backing to fall into third so quickly. Even if he does what’s to keep those votes from switching over to Patureau? On the flip side, those accusations may mean votes from Democrats into Greenes column.
A third possibility that we are overlooking is Roland Stevens garnering enough votes to pull into the runoff. With only two Democrats, one too busy partying to actually campaign, whose to say that he can’t get 30% of the vote and make the run off?
Tassin is in, that I am convinced of, and will eventually win. Riecke and Greene look like strong players, but Patureau may take enough votes to get into the run off or to take just enough to get Stevens in.
The whole game is name recognition, so yes, I agree that Tassin makes it to the runoff.
What is so funny is that the anti-Greene folks are actually helping him out regarding name recognition. The more they complain about him, the more his name is in the news, and the more votes he will get because people have heard of him.
[QUOTE=Young Rep in the 6th]AV,
Remember, this is a special election. The gloves are off, standards don’t apply. A good GOTV plan is what it takes to be successful. Only MJT, SR, & HG have that type of game plan. Actually, MJT is relying on her name. She is not going to need to work as hard.
Which gives even more reason to believe that Stevens has a chance at making the run off. The lower the turn out, the greater the chances are for a Democrat victory. We can definitely count on teachers and other government paid people to vote, those votes will most likely go Democrat. While on the other hand, people like me who have to work can simply get caught up in the day and end up missing the vote.
As for Patureau, he’s a dark horse that nobody sees coming. I think his short fall are the design of his signs. They are hard to see at night but it wasn’t a terrible idea to go after the LSU crowd. lets’ see if that works, I doubt that it will.
Best signs? Riecke- easy to see, pleasant to the eye, message delivered (RIECKE). Tassins come in next.

I agree, the worst mistake so far in this campaign was made by the Riecke campaign complaining about Tassins push poll. When I first heard it I thought Mike Smith would have to be stupid to answer the charges and thought he ought to leave the business if he did.
The two mistakes in the campaign was that it made Riecke look weak- complaining about mis-use of words by a woman. The second thing they did was called Tassin out by name.
A candidate should never use his opponents name. They should always say their own name but only refer to their opponent as “My opponent”
Example would be, “My opponent is a trial lawyer who accepted campaign donations from liberal trial lawyer. Vote for me, Martha Jane Tassin.”
[QUOTE=Young Rep in the 6th]Yeah, Lucky is the dark horse, but he is out of money. He should be jumping all over Greene right now. He is to much of the nice guy. Even at the forum he played the “spineless” part. He should be on the attack. He can get the money, just hasn’t.
I think a good candidate would be out on the streets today hitting the busy intersections. I would think Sherwood Forest at the interstate would be a good place. Today gives them four days to hit those streets and hit more people than they do canvassing houses.

I’ll even take that (good idea) a step further - Florida and Sherwood. Sherwood and Goodwood. Goodwood and Airline. Old Hammond at Airline. Sherwood and Coursey. Sherwood and Old Hammond.
[QUOTE=GOPundit]Riecke is young and ambitious. That can come across as a “political hack”, but he is no “idiot”, and he’ll bring the kind of energy needed to make some real changes and be a loud voice for the District and the conservative movement in this state. With term-limits in the House, I see the real possibility that is Riecke is eleceted he can be a leader in the legislature and when his time is up, move on to higher offices. His energy, his youth, and his fervor for the conservative movement can make him a bright star for the Republican Party of Louisiana .
[QUOTE=Unregistered44]Riecke is bold enough to say what exactly is the fact....
thats why we need hin in the capitol. It was beacuse of Riecke calling Tassin to task is what turned me to him.
I am voting fo rriecke on Saturday...for sure.
Yeah, I must say, that was the most impressive thing I have seen in my lifetime. It’s sort of like unregistered guest coming here and being bold enough to say what they really want to say but are too afraid to be indentified by it.
[QUOTE=TaxMan]And, of course, throwing in the “...conservative....Crristian...fighter for homeowners rights” tagline.
(For Roland Stevens, saying “fighting for the progressive agenda EWE stood for and left us")
Well, by using that line, you are identifying conservatives...excluding Stevens.
Still, “LOBBYIST, LOAN officers, and DIVORCE lawyers” are key words that will turn public opinion against the candidates without insulting them.
For those that don’t like Tassin, “Insurance agent” gives them a viable option without sending support to any of the other three. If people are turned off by Tassin, Guffey won’t hurt Tassin’s chances.
[QUOTE=GOPundit]Give me a break, Greene is a moderate-to-liberal lawyer that is getting his money in his left hand from trial lawyers and democratic activists, while he says everything the right wants to hear so that he can get elected.
Tassin is a nice woman, nothing against her personally, but she is a warmed-over City Councilwoman that will not be the political force in the legislature that we need to get real conservative reform. She is a good city councilwoman, but she wouldn’t push the reforms needed at the State level.

Chief of Staff,
Please enlighten us more. Go Nationals!
[QUOTE=Avman]Stevens may just make the next round with a low voter turnout and so many Republicans in the race.
All depends on whether the black vote splinters or whether those sample ballots go out Friday night with Stevens’ name on them.
I know I’ll get a few “racist” potshots on this one, but I’ve seen this done before. As recently as in 2003 when Cleo had the “Cleo Fields” ticket of Fields and Leach.
