Hah! No gun votes, yet they both have A ratings!  You’re a riot!  Yes neidermeyer, stolen property can be returned once it is recovered!  And, you can arrest the people who fenced the guns too!  But you go ahead and be soft on crime!  I’m still waiting to hear how else one would accomplished the mutual goal of keeping guns out of criminals hands.

“A” ratings can come from statements and questionnaires as well that the NRA sends out.

Again, LOOK AT THE LIST OF ENDORSEMENTS.  It’s chock FULL of Dems every year.  Remember the hoopla a few years ago about the NRA potentially backing Harry Reid, of all people?  He actually had a decent NRA rating, believe it or not.  What specific evidence do you have where a Republican with no votes was given an endorsement over a Dem with an “A” rating from the NRA who had votes on record?

If you cannot find one, your argument falls apart.  Please look at the facts.

Aside from the questionnaire and statements, Melancon was in Congress for 6 years. He’s had votes on gun issues.  I didn’t say a republican with no votes.  But with both sides being equal, Vitter got the endorsement.  NRA should have been neutral.  And the NRA was neutral in the Reid/Angle race, despite Reid having a B rating and Angle having an A rating.  But because if Reid had been defeated, Dick Durbin or Chuck Schumer would likely be Majority Leader and thus, a non-endorsement would better suit their agenda.  True, sometimes Democrats can get an advantage in the NRA.  But in that case, it was neutral to avoid another less palatable democrat gaining power.  Proving that politics does come into play in their decisions.  Don’t worry freddie, no need for you to repond.

There was a massive outcry for them to drop the Reid endorsement, because they were originally planning on doing it.  You bringing one instance - LA - into a generalized statement.  I imagine they look at all things being equal and then go with general conservatism, which is more likely to bring positive votes as well.

Gun deaths, not murders.  Sorry.  Violent crime rates have actually been steadily decreasing for some time.
