And DD has given it to us in a nutshell.  And you are absolutely right.

Personally, I would have been OK with two losses ( Alabama and Florida) this season.  Everyone knew those would be tough games.

The icing on the cake was the Ole Miss game.

Edit:  I probably should have said the straw that broke the camel’s back was the Ole Miss game.  Icing on a cake would be a good thing and that deal at the end of the Ole Miss game was NOT a good thing.

You keep writing that LSU beat Florida twice in 2007. Why don’t you give us the dates of those “2” victories? The 2007 SEC Championship was LSU/Tenn, not LSU/Florida.

Sorry, you are correct on that.  I kept thinking FL went to SEC Championship that game b/c they hammered Tennessee by about 30 pts. ealier that season.

I still stand by everything else.  LSU has been competitive with over the past 3-4 years with FL and Bama, even this season when those two are #1 and #2-3 in the country this season.

Just as a side note, as I’m obviously no expert, when I sat down, looked at LSU’s QB situation, and examined their schedule back in August, I predicted 9-3.  I had them losing to FL, Bama and Arkansas.

Why the heck doesn’t LSU ( a national powerhouse with big-time recruiting strength) have a decent quarterback???

Fine.  If he goes 11-1 or 10-2 next season, fire him anyway because he lost to Ole Miss this season.

Funny you can be so loyal to a politician who throws tens of millions of state taxpayer dollars to get out of state companies to come in and take business from good, already established loyal Louisiana businesses (ConAgra) and not utter a single word of concern, but you want to fire a coach who is only 2 seasons removed from a BCS Championship.

Just think if Louisiana voters demanded as much from their elected officials as we do from college coaches who have the task of going 12-1 or 13-0 every season with a bunch of easily impressionable and emotional 18-22 yr old college students!

Because the one who should have been starting for them last year and this year was finally kicked off the team after 3,874 chances to get his off the field act together, so LSU has been forced to go with inexperienced and less talented plan B’s.

USC is a national powerhouse with big-time recruiting strength, but guess what...they have to rebuild.  College football is a much different landscape than even just 6-8 years ago.  Why do you think so many Top 10 teams fell to “lesser” opponents the last 2 seasons?

Ok...I’m done.

Again, maybe LA taxpayers should expect as much from their elected officials that the ones who are LSU “die-hards” expect from a coach and college student athletes.

Aren’t you the same guy that predicted Iowa vs. Florida in the National Championship game?

Absolutely not.  Go back and look at the thread below started by Mr. O.

I stated 2 things in that thread:

1.  At that time, the BCS “computer percentage” had Iowa as the #1 team with 1.00.
2.  IF the BCS Championship match-up ended up being FL vs. Iowa, my money would be on Tebow/Myer and the Gators.

Now...IF Iowa had stayed undefeated, meaning wins vs. Penn State and Ohio St., then they very likely could be in the NC game, though I personally don’t think ANY Big 10 team deserves a shot right now over undefeated SEC, Big 12 or PAC 10 teams, especially considering Ohio State’s flops in ‘07 & ‘08.  But remember, the dumb computer picks the teams and may very well have picked an undefeated Iowa team.

Texas shouldn’t have too much a problem against Nebraska, especially after being awakened with that close game against A&M;.  THAT was surprising.  A&M;a month ago had 60 pts. hung on them by a Kansas State team that we upset at Cajun Field in Week 2.

I’m pulling for Florida this week against Bama because I like Tebow and have enjoyed watching Myer-coached teams play since his time at Utah back in ‘03.  Don’t think I can really make a prediction in it, though, except to say whoever scores the most points will win!

Maybe LSU should recruit mediocre white quarterbacks that dont have great NFL potential (dropping out of college for the big pay day) and can behave off the field.

Not sure if it was true but my brother-in-law said that Colt McCoy was headed to LSU until Perrilioux commited. He then changed his mind and went to Texas.

FWIW the coaches need to teach the players how to play and then let them do it. IMO Jefferson isn’t being taught, he’s being told what to do. At Ole Miss I’ve heard that Miles and Croten were arguing after the play instead of calling a timeout. That’s inexcusable.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as “bad luck.” - Robert Heinlein
