While moderation has been extremely lax/non-exsistent recently I’m here to announce that we will be enforcing all forum’s rules to their entirety.

For reference:

Though we ought to reiterate the forum rules on here, since we’ve had quite a few new members:
1. We do not vouch for the accuracy of information posted. All views expressed are those of the message poster.
2. We do try to remove objectionable messages within a reasonable period of time, which we define as
(a)Insults or threats
(b)Racial slurs (The n word and similar things)
(c)Vulgar or sexually graphic language
(d)Gossip about non-public figures
(e)Senseless threads (usually about non-political things)
(f)Knowingly false information
(g)Invasive of a person?s privacy
(h) Duplicate threads
(i) Wishing harm/violence to someone
(j) Posting entire articles or not providing link - When posting outside stories/articles, please “tease” these articles by posting no more than four paragraphs and linking the URL instead of copying the entire article: “teasing” make the thread easier to read and helps us avoid potential copyright issues.
(k) Calling out moderator - Our moderators are volunteers and moderating is not a perfect science. They are continually encouraged to use their best judgment in editing and/or deleting posts/accounts. Calling them out publicly is inappropriate - you may send them a private message if you have questions/concerns.
(l) Spam - these will be deleted and the account of the user posting the ad will be banned at the discretion of the moderator.
(m) Troll-like behavior
4. For “objectionable messages”, we reserve the right to edit and/or delete at the discretion of the moderator - a person caught violating one of these rules will, at the discretion of the moderator, receive a warning and/or a suspension of a member’s account. We strive at PoliticsLa to be courteous and respectful to each other while respecting the fact that people can have differing opinions.

If you violate these rules your post will be deleted. If you continue to violate these rules you will be banned.

Another new member.. wow

Senseless threads, about non-political things?  That’s what “other topics” is for.

I wonder if this means the site has been sold??

Everytime they get heavy handed with their enforcement of “the” rules.

Readership and postings drop, therefore not as funny, not as interesting and very one sided.

Let the free market decide.  As traditional conservatism states, we can handle our own problems, and don’t need heavy handed government.. When a particular problem like bill2008 becomes excessive, the “free” market dealt with it.

This must be a Barack Obama supporter that bought or is the moderator of the forum,

There will be “Changes”.

This person must think this is the only thing we have to do in life, and the only forum we can gather at each day. Get to heavy handed we will find another place to go fight.

Agreed, there are other sites.  One thing about this site, even the dumb, wrong posters on here are smarter than most I see elsewhere.  This has always been a lively political (and other) issues debate site, with an intelligent crowd that actually has a grasp on the english language.  Unlike sites like the DU, where they curse, babble incoherently, and speak in cellphone text “shorthand”, usually because they can’t speak proper english.

But if our new, inexperienced moderator, and his moderation efforts get out of hand, we can always move to another site.

I’m NOT the famous governor, so please don’t write me for dispensations, annulments, pardons, exorcisms, speaking engagements, executive branch ethics exceptions, or creative budgeting techniques.  Just stay in school, learn some good Louisiana flat earth theory, some numerology, some astrology, lots of creationism, some fast talk, but absolutely no volcano monitoring, and one day you can be ... a good sensible Republican voter.  --Faux Bobby Jindal

While constructive criticism is more than welcome, attacking members is not. I’m not threatening anyone with the new moderation message, if you follow the rules you’ll be fine.

Great, I hope that this forum doesn’t turn into a snooze fest.

The banter between the visitors is what makes it fun in here at times. We all know our local politics really stink.  We need something to give us a release.

Too late for that.
