Oh, but Bobby....Remember no one was actually harmed by the nooses that were hung from the non-existent “white tree” on the Jena High School campus. There was only the extreme psychological harm done to people because nooses are sometimes associated with lynchings. In fact, high school students of both races were running up and swinging on the nooses like typical high school boys may tend to do. Having fun, in other words, before the psychological trauma descended like a cloud upon all.
Booby will soon explain how that’s different, and in fact the people in Jena were harmed.
I recognize that Twitt says the nooses were not meant as a “cross-burning” type of racial incitement. In deference to her proximity to the occurences, I pointed out the the “Hate Quotient” may be low, but there was still enough of a problem for the principal and school to impose punishment. But, where she says that a “black federal investigator” found that “no warning of any kind was planned or even thought about,” I believe that his actual statement is different. He’s not a “black federal investigator,” by the way, he is the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Louisiana, Donald Washington:
Washington said FBI agents who went to Jena in September to investigate the noose report, and other federal officials who examined what happened, concluded it “had all the markings of a hate crime.”
The incident wasn’t prosecuted as such because it didn’t meet the federal standards required for the teens to be certified as adults, Washington said. A court makes the final decision on whether to drop their juvenile status.
The nooses in Grambling, bad, and I recommended suspension of the teachers and further dealing with the college president. “Hate Quotient” low. “Idiocy Quotient” high.
Really!!! Not what you said earlier:
My initial question about this is, as always, what are the complete facts. Whatever the teachers were up to is not so clear, but we know it had something to do with showing some kids what nooses were like from the days of lynching. I can think of much better ways to do that without actually lynching the kids. However, no kids were harmed in the Showing of the Nooses, as far as I know. If that’s the whole story, and there’s nothing more to it, then if I were college president I’d have an investigation and then assuming the findings are what we’re saying, chew them out and suspend the teachers for a week.

Are you capable at any point of explaining what you find flip floppy or inconsistent? I don’t think you can do it. In the upper statement, I ascribe an Idiocy Quotient to the teachers and the president. I have already in earlier posts criticized the president for censoring the paper and the teachers for trying to make up their own curriculum. Then in the lower statement I say that there must be a better way “without actually lynching the kids.” Obviously even if no child is hurt, there is no sense risking their health or even appearing to do no. No sense = idiocy. Nothing I am saying is inconsistent.
I know you will continue to charge me with something, inconsistency, political correctness, jaywalking, any foolishness you can come up with, but if you don’t bother to spell it out with some rudimentary exposition, I will assume you’re just joshing.
