NEW YORK - As hundreds protested outside, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad took the stage at Columbia University on Monday after a blistering introduction from the school’s president, who said the hard-line leader was a dictator with preposterous beliefs.

Ahmadinejad smiled as Columbia President Lee Bollinger took him to task over Iran’s human-rights record and foreign policy, as well as Ahmadinejad’s statements denying the Holocaust and calling for the disappearance of Israel.

“Mr. President, you exhibit all the signs of a petty and cruel dictator,” Bollinger said, to loud applause.

I am glad he took Ahmadinejad to task. I do not like the iran President, but I do believe
he had a right to speak at the University.

Asked about widely documented government abuse of women and homosexuals in his country, Ahmadinejad said, “We don’t have homosexuals” in Iran. “I don’t know who told you we had it,” he said.

No gays in Iran??  You guys think that’s possible?  Could this guy be homophobic??

Barney Frank would have easily and gladly have given Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, that tongue lashing.  Barney is the offical “Tongue Lasher” in the U. S. House of Representative.

Barney loved those visits to the doctor office years ago.  And the doctor would say,
Barney open your mouth and stick your tongue out.

I’m not so sure he’d be a tongue lasher… I’d say he was more like a vacuum cleaner… at least from the story I heard he was sucking something in front of President Bush’s locker.

Despite entire US media objections, negative propagation and hue and cry in recent days over IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s scheduled address at Colombia University, he gave his lecture and answered students questions here on Monday afternoon.

On second day of his entry in New York, and amid standing ovation of the audience that had attended the hall where the Iranian President was to give his lecture as of early hours of the day, Ahmadinejad said that Iran is not going to attack any country in the world.

Before President Ahamadinejad’s address, Colombia University Chancellor in a brief address told the audience that they would have the chance to hear Iran’s stands as the Iranian President would put them forth.

He said that the Iranians are a peace loving nation, they hate war, and all types of aggression.

Referring to the technological achievements of the Iranian nation in the course of recent years, the president considered them as a sign for the Iranians’ resolute will for achieving sustainable development and rapid advancement.

The audience on repeated occasion applauded Ahmadinejad when he touched on international crises.

I don’t think so, but since Barney Frank is a Democrat, it’s perfectly okay for him to suck down on male prostitutes on Government property, now if he were Republican, people would be demanding his resignation.

When David Vitter built his career on false high moral’s and demanded others to live up to them is why he should resign. He broke the law by soliciting a prostitute and then broke the very false high moral standards he called others to live by? Vitter made his own bed
and needs to lay in it,without the hooker this time.

See you defend Vitter but throw stones at the Democrat ,just like vitter threw stones at President Clinton.

I do think Barney was right in letting everyone know what type of
person they were going to be listening to.

I will call on any person of either party, to step down if they have ever claimed other people should live up to their false high morals.Notice the republican party is not asking Larry Craig to stay and that is because he was busted over gay sex. Now is that not republican hypocrisy, to say vitter sex was ok but Larry Craig sex was wrong. In truth all Larry Craig did was play footsie with a cop.

About Larry Craig, and again, you haven’t heard me be critical of Larry Craig… because I do think it’s far less of an issue than David Vitter…

That being said, I find it quite disturbing that there is a “code” to have sex in airport bathrooms. I find it disturbing that he was arrested for knowing and participating in this homosexual code. I find it disturbing that what Larry Craig got was a pair of handcuffs instead of a black eye.

Isn’t tapping toes and reaching under the divider a clear violation of man code?

and needs to lay in it,without the hooker this time.

See you defend Vitter but throw stones at the Democrat ,just like vitter threw stones at President Clinton.

You haven’t heard me defend Vitter, my question to you is, since Democrats believe that “it’s just sex” then shouldn’t they resign over their own hypocrisy?

Your right, I have not heard you defend Vitter and I stand corrected on
that point.

I would not know about any man code in the restroom. I am only in their long enough to go
and get out.
Now what would you, have liked him to have told the iran president?
I am still glad The man stood up and made sure everyone there new what type of man Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was, before he started talking. At least he did not make the iran president sound like a good guy.

There’s just certain man code that one should obey in the bathroom… like all men’s bathrooms should have three urinals… two on the outside, one in the center one for design. but that is off topic…

Actually I think that as host, he should not have been insultive to Amuhammed Jihad but I don’t disagree with him. If he had invited a Republican or a Democrat to speak at his university and gave them the same treatment, how would we have reacted?

If he didn’t like the guy, he shouldn’t have invited him.

That being said, I think that dictators that prohibit foreigners from criticizing their governments ought not be allowed to travel and speak in countries that they are critical of. In other words, Amuhammed Jihad and Latin’s little #### Hugo Chavez ought not be allowed to come to America and speak against this country since they do not allow the same in their countries.

Treat them as they treat others.

The man stood up to him, and made sure everyone there new what type of man Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was, before he started talking, and the republicans put him down for that.

BTW was bush happy he was sucking ,after all it was bush’s locker?

But seeing we do have freedom of speech, I do think he had a right to talk once he arrived into our country.
By showing him for what he is and then letting him speak,I would hope most of the people there could see this man for the lying scum that he is.Sometimes people have to face evil so they understand there is evil in the world and not everything they hear, second hand may be true.

Now I do agree with you on not allowing them into the country unless they abide by rules
between the countries.
